This cross was commissioned in November 2005 by my client for her 10-year-old daughter Hannah. The design for the cross originated
from Hannah’s room’s “Lizzie Maguire”-esque decor. The black and white beads were chosen to coordinate
with the adorable bookshelf Hannah’s talented mom painted partially in black checkerboard. Hannah insisted on a white
“sweetheart” for the middle and decided on the pink color scheme.
After Hannah received her cross, her mom sent me a touching email to thank me for creating the cross. She also shared
with me the “coincidental” symbolism they had found in the cross:
“The pink is for the "little bundle of girl joy" that God sent to us in November 1995.
But even pink little bundles of joy come with black sin in their lives.
Then through the power of the Cross and what Jesus did....
There is a little pure, white heart now, because Jesus washed it clean September 2001.”
God is so amazing. : )
The cross now hangs in a special place in Hannah's room.
